Yura Mochizuki (born 2004)
Born and raised in a small seaside town in Fukui, surrounded by mountains and the sea, Yura’s life appeared peaceful on the surface — yet for her, it was a place that stirred unspoken pain rather than comfort. On her eighteenth birthday, without telling anyone the reason, she left home and disappeared into Tokyo — a city of endless crowds where she believed she could finally escape her past by blending in.
Life in Tokyo was fragile and quiet. She worked small jobs — at a flower shop, handing out flyers — and lived alone in a cheap one-room apartment. At night, she would sling a small camera over her shoulder and wander the streets, capturing fragments of light and shadow. Photography became her language — her only way to connect with the world.
One evening, she encountered Luna singing on a street corner. Drawn to her voice, Yura began to follow her through the lens, documenting her performances in silence. At first, she was just an onlooker — a quiet observer. But over time, their lives began to overlap, and a subtle trust took root between them.
Yura never steps onto the stage herself.Yet within her photographs lies something Luna’s music alone cannot express — the pauses, the silence, and the fragile spaces in between.Through her lens, she continues to record another side of the story of LUNAR EXIT, capturing the fleeting beauty that words and melodies often leave behind.
