Hirose Mei (MEI)

Hirose Mei, known simply as Mei, was born in 2001. She is the drummer of the underground band NAjNA, and her explosive drumming style has earned her the nickname “The Hyper Engine from Osaka.” The moment she steps onto the stage, she commands overwhelming presence, shaking the entire venue with every strike of her drums.

Offstage, however, Mei is bold, easygoing, and open-hearted. She smokes, drinks, and speaks roughly at times. Yet beneath that seemingly careless exterior lies a deep sense of loyalty and sincerity. Though she may usually come across as rough around the edges, when it truly matters, she reveals a seriousness and dependability that can be surprising.

For Luna, who has only recently arrived in Tokyo and often feels uncertain and alone, Mei is far more than just a senior musician. She is like an older sister, someone who supports her unconditionally. Even while being bound by the restrictions of her own debut contract, Mei never uses that as an excuse to turn away. Instead, she reaches out without hesitation.

In the story of LUNAR EXIT, Mei is portrayed as a character with two sides: boisterous boldness and genuine earnestness. Most of the time, she lightens the mood with her relaxed and playful attitude, but when the moment calls for it, she becomes the powerful heartbeat her friends rely on most. Luna can faintly sense that behind Mei’s presence lies the shadow of an unusual past. Yet Mei herself never speaks of it, choosing instead to laugh it off and keep racing forward through life.
